My Mom Chose Me!

Recently, a married woman texted and scheduled an appointment. She felt like she was facing a crisis that only an abortion could resolve. She was pregnant, overwhelmed, and convinced that abortion was her only option. Her circumstances were complicated, and her heart was heavy.

She sat in the counseling room crying as she unpacked her situation. She was married with 2 children that she counted as her greatest blessings. She knew in her heart that she would regret having an abortion. As her baby appeared on the ultrasound, she seemed completely unfazed, and left our office determined to have an abortion.

We wondered if anything we had done – the ultrasound, the conversation – had made any difference. Knowing that the best place for this situation was in God’s hands, we prayed.

We were totally surprised and overjoyed when she came back the next week and told us she had decided to have her baby. The ultrasound had gently reminded her that a precious unborn baby was growing inside of her, and our conversation helped her to realize that her life and the life of her baby mattered to God.

Together, we helped her avoid the regret and hurt that would have remained throughout her life. And, most importantly, the life of an unborn baby was saved!
